Albizia Rosa - essenza appartenente al genere delle Fabacee e non protetta dalla convenzione di Washington. Viene reperita alle Seychelles dove è presente da un centinaio di anni e viene ormai considerata una specie nativa.
Ritenuta a tutti gli effetti una specie invasiva poiché cresce rapidamente, molto più in fretta delle altre specie native nelle isole, presenta una chioma piatta ed espansa che forma un fitto ombrello che non permette alle altre piante locali di svilupparsi.

Albizia wood – it is a tree species belonging to the Fabaceae genus found in the Seychelles where it has existed for a hundred years and is now considered a native species.
It is considered an invasive species to all intents and purposes because it grows rapidly, much faster than other native species in the islands. It has a broad flat topped shape which forms a thick covering and prevents other local plants from growing. It is not protected by the Washington convention.

Albizia Rosa ebanizzato – legno di Albizia Rosa che, a seguito di spugnatura e ceratura colorate, assume i toni dell’ebano mantenendo visibile la nervatura sottostante.

Albizia ebony-stained wood – Albizia wood which is treated with wood stain and coloured wax to give it the colour of ebony while the underlying grain of the wood remains visible.

Amarante – essenza appartenente al genere delle Fabacee, di consistenza dura e compatta con colorazione porpora intenso. Proviene dal centro America. Non protetta dalla convenzione di Washington.

Bois Jaune – legno duro e compatto di colore giallo intenso che in alcuni casi presenta sottili venature tendenti al grigio e beige. Proviene dalle Seychelles. Non protetto dalla convenzione di Washington.

Bois Jaune - it is a hard, high density wood, bright yellow in colour, which in some cases has thin greyish and beige streaks. It comes from the Seychelles. It is not protected by the Washington convention.

Legno di Cocco – legno ricavato dalla Palma da Cocco seychellese, quando ha passato l’età produttiva e diventa particolarmente adatto per essere lavorato. Si può quindi considerare un legno ecologico. Si presenta con fondo biondo scuro e una tratteggiatura marrone. Non protetto dalla convenzione di Washington.

Coconut wood – wood taken from Seychelles coconut palms once they have stopped producing fruit and are particularly suitable for use. It can therefore be considered an ecological wood. It is dark blond in colour with brown markings. It is not protected by the Washington convention.

Ebano – pregiato legno duro e compatto a grana fine di colore nero.
Proveniente dall’Africa, appartiene alla famiglia delle Ebanacee. Non protetto dalla convenzione di Washington.

Ebony – a prized, fine grained, high density hardwood, black in colour.
It comes from Africa and belongs to the Ebenaceae family. It is not protected by the Washington convention.

Lagaty – essenza dura e compatta di colore nocciola intenso con fiammate giallo-grigio. Proviene dalle Seychelles. Non protetta dalla convenzione di Washington.
